How to make a moamba...

Moamba is a delicious traditional food from Angola. Furthermore, it is also very cheap and can be easily made without too much work. Moreover, you can find all the ingredients here in Texas, such as in a grocery store such as Fiesta. Moamba looks like a soup. We usually eat this food with beans and batter “funge.’ You can make Moamba in four simple steps.
The first step is to buy the ingredients. You will need tomatoes, chicken, onions, peanut butter, oil, lemon, salt, garlic, beans, palm oil, water, manioc flour. These are all the ingredients that you will need. This recipe can serve 5 people with these quantities:
Ingredients

Moamba:
1 chicken
1onion
2 to 4 tomatoes
1 c. peanut butter
1 tab. Olive oil
1 lemon

Beans:
1 can of beans
1 c. of palm oil
1½ c. of water
Salt as you like
Batter “Funge”
2 c. of manioc flour
½ pot with water

The second step is to make the Moamba. First, cut up the chicken into pieces, but not too small. Season the chicken with salt, garlic and lemon juice and let it stand for ten minutes to absorb the flavor. While the chicken is absorbing the flavor, dice the tomatoes and the onion very carefully and put in a pot with a little bit of olive oil. Put the pot onto the stove at a medium heat. Let it cook until the onion starts looking golden. When it starts looking golden, put the chicken in the pot with tomatoes, onions and oil. Then mix it until the chicken looks cooked, it can take ten or fifteen minutes. When the chicken looks ready, put the peanut butter in the pot and add salt, as you like. Then close the pot with a lid for 15 more minutes - until you see that the peanut butter is simmering.

The third step is to make the beans. Wash the beans in water twice, after having soaked them overnight. Bring the beans to cook in a pot with a cup of water, when it is half cooked, pour in a little salt and the palm oil and cook thoroughly. Then pour in the rest of the oil, stir and mash the beans slightly to thicken the sauce. Cook the rest of the oil over low heat (stirring occasionally until you feel the beans begin to stick to the bottom of the pan).

The last step is to make the batter. Place the boiling water in a pot on high heat. After it boils, add the manioc flour at once and stir vigorously. Let the flour cook stirring constantly to avoid clumping. The final consistency should be quite elastic. It should be possible to remove spoonful, that is, the mass will be thick. When you achieve this consistency put the batter “funge’’ into the bowl.

Now it is ready to eat!. I recommend you to make this food on Saturday and after these easy steps you can really enjoy this food.  In conclusion, Moamba is a very easy food to make and tastes delicious! I hope you enjoy this recipe.
